The Brazilian Forest Service (SFB), in partnership with the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change and B3 S.A. – Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão, invites the press to attend, on March 25, starting at 2:00 p.m., the auction for the forest concession of the Bom Futuro National Forest, located in Porto Velho (RO).

The bidding process is unprecedented in the country, as it represents the first federal concession focused on forest restoration with carbon credits as the main source of revenue. The model provides legal certainty to investors, as land ownership remains with the Federal Government, with only the right to sustainable use and the exploitation of environmental assets and forest products from native species being granted.

The concession covers 98,000 hectares, divided into two management units. An investment of R$ 86.7 million is estimated over the 40-year contract period. The selection criterion will be the highest concession fee percentage offered.
